Baltimore, MD (3/25/21) — Given continuing restrictions on large gatherings due to COVID-19, The Arc Baltimore’s 2021 Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony will be held online on Wednesday, May 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
While the Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony may not be in-person, it will still feature the election of the organization’s new board of directors and officers, and award recognition for those who have gone above and beyond in their service to The Arc Baltimore.
“Despite the fact that we will not be able to see our many members, friends, volunteers, and awardees in-person, we remain committed to recognizing the outstanding services given to The Arc Baltimore and to the individuals it supports, particularly in the face of all of the challenges encountered over the past year,” says the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, Kathleen McNally Durkin.
Among the awards to be presented during the Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony are the Employee of the Year Award, the Volunteer Service Award, the Self-Advocacy Award, and the Stephen H. Morgan Award for Career Excellence.
“The hard work and dedication of all of our award recipients and nominees, and so many others, is the critical component which enables The Arc Baltimore to support people with developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships,” Durkin notes.
While the Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony may not be in-person, WMAR-TV 2 news anchor Jamie Costello will still serve in his traditional role as emcee, albeit virtually.
