Volunteers

Volunteers

Get involved with The Arc Baltimore through the gift of your time as a volunteer in one or several projects during the year. We invite you to consider one of three primary options for service throughout the year.

For other customized volunteer opportunities (e.g. bingo, dances, karaoke, or an ice cream social at one of our day locations) for groups smaller than 10, we encourage you to reach out at contactus@thearcbaltimore.org.

Spring Spruce Up

LATE MAY

Our Community Living Department identifies three homes where we provide support that could benefit from a bit of curb appeal. Old plantings may need removal, garden beds need weeding, and fresh greenery needs installing. We welcome small companies, service groups, and individual volunteers for placement at one of our sites.

In addition, we can use donations to go toward the new landscaping and sometimes new patio furniture or decor. While the home receives regular mowing and trimming, volunteer resources can transform a yard so it’s more welcoming to the people living there and a source of pride for them.

Ready, Set, Interview!

OCTOBER

Our Community Employment Department connects people with developmental disabilities with various employment opportunities through on-the-job experience and job coaching. Consider volunteering at our Ready, Set, Interview! by mock interviewing an intern from one of our employment programs and then sharing feedback, lessons learned, and what it is like to work at your company.

We welcome small companies, service groups, and individual volunteers to participate.

Adopt a Family

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER

Each holiday season, The Arc Baltimore pairs dozens of families with a member with developmental disabilities with a generous donor willing to share the joy of gift-giving and spread holiday cheer.

Gather up friends, family, and/or co-workers for a gift-wrapping party, and make a difference in the lives of a needy family.
