MACS (Maryland Association of Community Services)
MACS is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening agencies to better support people with developmental disabilities and their families in their own communities. This is accomplished through advocacy that promotes the highest standards of program excellence; fosters a climate that develops and nurtures a quality workforce; and results in an increased capacity within Maryland communities to support people in inclusive settings.
People On The Go - Maryland
People on the Go is a statewide self-advocacy group with the membership consisting of local self advocacy groups from around the state. Self advocacy groups help people stand up for what is important to them and bring people together to advocate for common issues. There is always power in numbers.
Real Lives Campaign
The REAL LIVES campaign is a joint effort between people with disabilities, their families and friends, service providers, and advocates throughout Maryland. We want to raise public awareness and encourage state policymakers to do two things:
- establish a fair system to set funding levels for each person receiving community supports; and
- adequately fund developmental disability services for the long term.
